Details
Inspired by the Chesterfield coats popular in England during the 1840s, this coat encourages commitment in the modern man. In 1787, Thomas Clarkson campaigned to abolish the Atlantic slave trade alongside William Wilberforce and risked assassination while collecting evidence of the trade’s horrors.
After 46 years of commitment, he helped end the Atlantic slave trade and abolish slavery throughout the British Empire. In 1846, Thomas focused efforts to end slavery in the US, hosted Frederick Douglass in England, and aided in the purchase of his freedom. Thomas’ commitment shaped the world into what we know it as today.
